Blog Tour: Review of Come to Me Quietly by AL Jackson

Title: Come to Me Quietly (The Closer to You Series, Book 1)
Author: AL Jackson
Release Date: January 7, 2014
Genre: New Adult Romance

Synopsis:

Aleena Moore is content with her life. She has goals and dreams and an easy smile. She also has a secret she holds locked inside.

Jared Holt believes he doesn’t deserve to love or be loved. He destroys everything he touches. Haunted by the mistake that shattered his life, he’s fled from the memory of that pain.

Jared doesn’t know why he’s compelled to return, but finds himself drawn back to the place where it all began. The exact place where it ended. When he runs into his childhood best friend, Aleena’s older brother Christopher, he agrees to share Christopher and Aleena’s apartment while he looks for a place of his own.

Aleena is no longer the little girl Jared remembers from his past and evokes feelings in him he never wanted to feel again. Terrified of destroying her, he fights to keep her away. But her touch is something he can’t resist—the touch that sealed his fate.

Their pasts are intertwined and their futures uncertain. The only truths they know are the secrets they whisper in the night.

Sweet Review:

First off, I have to say this, AL Jackson is in a league of her own. Her writing is flawless, full of angst and all around heartwarming. She writes in a way that pulls every shred of emotion you thought you had and then twists the pages around your heart to squeeze out the rest. EVERY book Ms. Jackson has written has been a one-sit read for me, I CANNOT put them down.

This book was no exception. Come to Me Quietly is the story of longtime friends Aly, her brother Christopher, and Jared. But Jared left years ago, he ran from a tortured past and has enough guilt and anger for all three of them. But when he comes back, he realizes his little "Aly Cat" that used to tag along with him and Christopher, isn't so little anymore and has turned into a beautiful young woman. And the moment she sees him, all the raw emotions she once had for him years ago come flooding back. Will his broken past keep him from finding and feeling the love he so deserves? Will Aly finally be brave enough to tell Jared how she feels?
"Hearts have a way of finding their way back home."
The journey of these two souls is an emotional, beautiful and all-consuming roller coaster ride; one that you really don't want to end. I can't compliment this book enough. I am a "I have to feel it, to believe it" type of reader, and you Ms. Jackson, made me feel it through the entire book. Once again...bravo!
