Review and Giveaway: Shattered Grace by K. Anne Raines

Shattered Grace by K. Anne Raines

Synopsis:

Seventeen-year-old Grace grows up knowing she’s different, but she always attributed it to a mother who didn’t want her, a father who abandoned her, and a curse that sets her apart. Despite those struggles, her grandfather remained her rock and confidant. Her life irrevocably shatters the day her grandfather dies.

The day of his funeral sets off a chain of events, making Grace question everything she’s ever known to be true, and as a result, who she can truly trust. She inherits his house, part of his money, his Guardian and something that ties them together.

Just before Grace’s 18th birthday, she is thrust into a world she couldn’t fathom existed and does everything she can to thwart the destiny suddenly forced upon her. She’s been chosen for greatness, but at what cost? With eyes now open, she must choose to either be Chosen, or watch those around her suffer the consequences.

Torn between the man who’s come to protect her and the one sent to destroy her, she teeters on the edge of decision, trying to come to grips with who she is, what she wants and what all of that means for her, those she loves and the rest of mankind.

Sweet Review:

Angels. Guardians. A mysterious family secret. Sorrow. Humor. Sexual tension...this book has it ALL! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it has been calling my name for SOOOO long, I am so happy to finally be able to review it. I've read a few paranormal books before and really enjoyed them, apparently I have a thing for sexy Guardian angels. LOL K. Raines wrote such a great story here. The paranormal elements in this book weren't over the top and she explained them in a way that left you hoping that it actually was real. I'm completely invested in her characters that she brought to life. Grace, our heroine, is a teen who loses her grandfather and is thrown into a new life once her family secret is revealed. She is introduced to Quentin, her grandfather's lawyer....errrr Guardian. Like, as in Guardian Angel.....a HOT Guardian Angel, I might add. He now must convince Grace to trust him with her own life, as she is now the one to protect the family secret. As we come to find out, some serious repercussions are on the table if she doesn't take this serious.

I am 100% Team Quentin in this book. Although other love interests are introduced, ultimately, Quentin has my heart. Reading his POV was always so heartwarming. Soooo, Ms. Raines...I'm gonna need more of him VERY soon...m'kay?!

Every chapter in this book keeps you on your toes. The plot flowed with twists and turns around each corner, always something or someone thrown in Grace's way to make the story that much more interesting. A great debut novel! I am VERY much looking forward to following Grace and Quentin's adventure to keep Pandora safe. If you aren't real sure about the "paranormal" genre, I would HIGHLY recommend this as an introductory.

Her stare remained fixed on Quentin as her slender arm shot out from her side. He couldn’t move, and definitely couldn’t breathe as she ran a soft hand across his head. Something he didn’t want her to know, or feel, ran rampant along the current of his emotions and straight through Grace’s touch. Quickly she pulled her hand away sucking in a breath at the same time.
"Quentin,” she whispered turning her face toward the passenger window. Her cheeks burned a beautiful crimson.

Inside Quentin smiled. He knew he should be mortified, but it was her own damn fault.

“Keep your hands to yourself if you don’t want to know what I’m thinking let alone feeling.” The jag rumbled as he pushed its life-button.
A chuckle escaped him as he watched Grace cross her arms across her chest and huff.

“Noted,” she said with a cute little pout.
